Structural waterproofing conference takes high tech route

31/08/2018

National trade body The Property Care Association has invested in the latest technology to create an immersive experience for delegates at its forthcoming structural waterproofing conference.

Insight into high-profile projects underground, technical details and an overview of liabilities and responsibilities are all being featured at the PCA’s third annual International Structural Waterproofing conference.

Final places are now being booked for the event, taking place at The Slate, University of Warwick, Coventry on 13 September, 2018.

Speakers include representatives from Building Design Partnership, ASUC and NHBC. More details and booking information, can be found at www.property-care.org/conferences

Conferences are a major part of the PCA’s activity, with an annual programme targeted at the different sectors represented by the Association including invasive non-native species, and air quality and building preservation, as well as structural waterproofing.

Held throughout summer and autumn, the events are all designed to appeal to members and a wider audience alike.

As part of its approach to creating industry-leading events, the Association is trialling interactive technology, with a view to roll it out across its conference programme.

The International Structural Waterproofing Conference will be the first in the calendar to feature the mobile-based system, which offers a range of features including instant messaging between attendees and live questioning methods.

Steve Hodgson, Chief Executive of the PCA, said: “Our conference programme has gone from strength-to-strength over the years, and we are constantly looking to ways to ensure we offer delegates an educational and inspiring experience.”

The new technology has been introduced for the event with support from Advanced Preservations, Delta Membrane Systems, Fosroc, MJ Rooney Construction, Newton Waterproofing Systems, Sika and Timberwise UK.

The links to the App will be uploaded to the PCA website for those attending the conference, and for other interested parties, shortly.
